The Arkansas County Sheriff's Office runs the jail. The jail is at 1000 Ricebelt Avenue in DeWitt. To check on a person in the Arkansas County inmate population, call the jail line at (870) 659-2064. The main Sheriff's Office number is (870) 659-2060. Staff can give you the person's name, charges, and bond amount over the phone. There is no online roster.

The Arkansas County Jail is older than most in the state. It holds between 20 and 40 inmates on most days. The facility takes both men and women. Records are kept by hand at the booking desk. If a person gets booked at night, the record may not be ready until the next morning. Call during office hours for the fastest reply. The records division is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

The jail handles pre-trial holds and short sentences. If a person is sent to state prison, they move out of the county jail and into the Arkansas Department of Correction. At that point, they will show up on the ADC state search.

Visitation at the Arkansas County Jail

The Arkansas County Jail schedules visits by housing unit. Visitors must be on the inmate's approved list. Each visit runs about 30 minutes. Bring valid photo ID. Minors must be with an adult guardian. The jail follows a strict dress code.

Call (870) 659-2064 to set up a visit. The jail may change the schedule based on the inmate's status or facility needs. Some new bookings cannot take visits for the first 48 hours.

Bond Payment and Commissary in Arkansas County

Cash bonds can be posted at the jail at any hour. The jail takes cash only for in-house bonds. Surety bonds need a licensed bail bondsman. Personal checks are not taken. Call the jail for the current bond amount on a specific person.

Commissary deposits can be made at the jail lobby in person. Money orders can also be mailed to the inmate at the DeWitt address. The jail does not offer online commissary deposits. Include the inmate's full name on the money order. Jail staff will post the deposit to the right account.
