The Howard County Sheriff's Office runs the jail in Nashville. The main phone is (870) 845-2626. Staff can give out the name, charges, and bond amount of a person held in the jail. The jail takes both men and women. Intake runs 24 hours a day. If a person was booked late at night, the record may not post online until the next morning.

If the person you are looking for is not on the roster, they may have been moved to state prison. Pretrial holds and short sentences stay at the county jail. Longer sentences go to the Arkansas Department of Correction.
Search Howard County State Inmates
When a Howard County inmate is sent to state prison, their file moves to the ADC Inmate Info Search System. This is the main statewide tool. Search by name, ADC number, age, race, or county of conviction. Set the county to Howard to pull just Howard County cases. Results list the current unit, sentence length, and projected release date.
The ADC keeps these files under Ark. Code Ann. § 12-27-113(e)(1). That law tells the state to save photos, trial data, and past history for each inmate. The search is free. No account is needed. Mugshots can be turned on or off in the results view.
Use of the state search tool has some limits. Inmates on the ADC waiting list may still be held at the Howard County Jail. They will not show up until the move is done. Out-of-state inmates held here under the Interstate Compact will not show up in the ADC search either.

Every person in the Howard County inmate population came through a court. The Circuit Clerk in Nashville keeps the full case file. Staff can pull case dockets, charge sheets, and final judgments. The office handles both criminal and civil files.

Results include dockets, charges, plea info, and sentence terms. Basic search is free. Certified copies run $5 to $10 each plus a per-page fee.
The Arkansas Judiciary website is the main portal for court rules and court news. It links to local court contacts and statewide forms. CourtConnect goes down for maintenance each night between 12:30 AM and 2:00 AM, and from 10 PM Saturday to noon Sunday.
FOIA Requests for Howard County Inmate Data
The Arkansas Freedom of Information Act lets any state citizen ask for public records. The law is at Ark. Code Ann. § 25-19-101 et seq. The Sheriff's Office has three business days to reply. Put your request in writing. Send it to the Howard County Sheriff's Office in Nashville or email the office.
Your request must name the records you want and include your contact info. Copy fees are set at actual cost. Most counties charge about $0.25 per page. Certified copies are $5.00 each. Staff can redact Social Security numbers and other private data before release. Active investigation files and medical records are not open to the public.

Cash bonds can be posted at the jail at any hour. The jail takes cash only for in-house bonds. Surety bonds need a licensed bail bondsman. Call the jail line for the current bond amount on a booked person. Bond info is also listed on the online roster next to the charge.
Some new bookings cannot take visits for the first 48 hours. The jail may also change the schedule based on facility needs. Holiday hours may differ from the normal weekly plan.
Note: Commissary funds and money orders can be dropped off at the Howard County Jail lobby, but you should call first to confirm current rules.
